Redfish has firm and tasty meat, which is white with beautiful red skin.
The redfish (Sebastes Mentella) lives in the deep sea off the Greenlandic coast. Here it is caught by trawlers, freezing the fish right after catch ensuring freshness and very high quality. The cold Arctic waters makes the redfish grow very slowly, allowing flevours to develop fully - large specimens can be as old as 50 years.
The mild and delicate flavours of the redfish makes it great for steaming or alternatively pan frying or grilling on the skin side. Royal Greenland offers a variety of redfish products such as skin-on fillets, center cut portions, skin-on kirimi and semi-dried fish.
