Message from the Managing Director

We strive towards providing highly value-added, safe and reliable products to consumers around the world and evolving the healthy fish-eating culture in Japan as well as the rest of the world

"Our foremost task at Royal Greenland Japan is to support and develop the nation's culture for eating fish, while making use of the world's marine resources in a sustainable manner."

Ever since our foundation in 1988, Royal Greenland Japan has processed and sold high quality seafood products, such as cold water prawns, snow crab and Greenland halibut from the cold oceans around Greenland, in the Japanese market.

The majority of our seafood is caught by our own vessels fishing in Greenland or by individual Greenlandic fishermen delivering directly to our facilities. In both cases, the fishery takes place strictly according to the quota set by the Government of Greenland each year. It is important to us to protect the sensitive Arctic environment that is the foundation of our business and give back to the communities in which we operate, while at the same time, bringing delicious seafood meals to as many people as possible.

Takaaki Shimoda

Managing Director, Royal Greenland Japan
