About Royal Greenland Japan

Tokyo is home to Royal Greenland's local representation in Japan. Royal Greenland Japan has been present in the Japanese market for more than 30 years and is specialised in seafood products of North Atlantic origin, perfectly adapted to Japanese palates. Today our assortment includes special sushi cuts and fish in Japanese marinades.

Long, local experience

Royal Greenland Japan was established in 1988 and was in the beginning, only selling raw materials to industrial customers. However, our organisation quickly developed, considering the Japanese preference for high quality seafood. Especially Greenland halibut, prawns and snow crab is appreciated by the quality conscious Japanese customers.

Special Japanese products

During the late 90s Royal Greenland Japan took on the feat of processing the North Atlantic seafood especially to fit Japanese preferences. In focus were highly specialised sushi cuts, which were sold directly to conveyor belt sushi restaurants. In the later years, the assortment has also come to include cuts for sashimi and, among other products, marinated Greenland halibut, raw sweet prawns and lumpfish roe.

High level of food safety

Processing for the quality conscious Japanese market takes great care and attention to detail – especially when it comes to food safety. Therefore Royal Greenland's production facilities are run according to strict quality demands and principles and are audited by external personnel regularly.
